Summer trend alert: Styling a Vintage Blazer from Christian Dior | Temps d’un Café
Today on the blog is all about Styling a Vintage Blazer from Christian Dior | Temps d’un Café. Fashion moves so fast and we sometimes find ourselves going back to some items that don’t seem so far away. I sometimes wonder how in hell did we come back to the 90’s style SO quickly. Even though I kind of like it, seeing so many pieces that I used to see when I was younger is actually shocking. The biker shorts, the ugly sneakers, the bucket hats and of course, the oversized boxy blazers.

The art of thrift shopping
There is no need to spend thousand of dollars to look good. Thanks to all the thrift shops available and vintage online stores, we can easily find high end pieces for so little. Like this gorgeous Christian Dior blazer, you could also get unique pieces if you take your time. Of course finding THE perfect vintage piece is not an easy job. In fact, it requires patience and a lot of dedication. My friend and I used to go to Antwerp for the day just to go thrift shopping. Little secret, Antwerp has the most amazing vintage destinations with so many luxury items. If you live in Europe, I highly suggest this amazing city for so many reasons. Now, let’s go back to Christian.
Christian Dior oversized men’s blazer for 9$
My very good friend got quite lucky with this one of a kind Christian Dior men’s blazer. Can you actually believe that this bad boy was only 9$! Yep, vintage can be SO satisfying and amazing. I fell in love the minute I saw it and couldn’t resist stealing it from him. I do have the intention of giving it back, I mean, one day in a very far future. Oops.
How to style an oversized men’s blazer
If you are a regular reader, you know that a few weeks ago I was writing about Styling an Oversized Black Blazer. However, I do think vintage blazers can be trickier because of their boxier shapes. In other words, be careful because you can easily go south. If, like me, you’re not super tall, you have to be even more careful.
Tips and tricks to help you style an oversized vintage blazer
First of all, focus on your blazer’s length since it might makes things harder to style. As a mentioned earlier in this article, some lengths shorten your legs quite a bit. Therefore, if you don’t want to wear high heels, go with chunkier sneakers with a bit of height. You can obviously go with a nice 3 inches stilettos to have a classier look. You can watch my IGTV where I styled this outfit with white Supergas instead but added a belt on my waist to shorten the blazer as much as possible.
Since I’m wearing a men’s blazer, I decided to focus on some very feminine accessories like these gold earrings from Maslo Jewelry and a sparkly headband. Also, adding a bit of colour is a good thing like this gorgeous shirt from Zara. Because my outfit was very inspired by the 90’s, my printed Gucci Lady Web bag was the right amount of modern and vintage all together. Et voilà! No need to go overboard and add too many things to your outfit. You want people to focus on the most important thing, your vintage. blazer!
