10 Mar My weekend at Auberge du Vieux-Port
SPENDING MY WEEKEND AT AUBERGE DU VIEUX-PORT IN MONTREAL
BREAKFAST IN BED, AMAZING LOCATION AND BEAUTIFUL ROOM, MY WEEKEND AT AUBERGE DU VIEUX-PORT WAS PERFECTION
A convenient location in the old Port of Montreal, Auberge du Vieux-Port couldn’t be better located
Auberge du Vieux-Port, a small hotel located in the Old Port of Montreal. One thing I absolutely loved when staying at Auberge du Vieux-Port was definitely its perfect location. Since I live outside of the center I try to stay away from late night plans. I have to drive a good 45 minutes and believe me, at 1 am, you do not want to take your car to go back home. Spending a weekend in the old port was the perfect opportunity for me to have a little fun and go out more than usual.
Located on Rue de la Commune, this street is very convenient if you want to walk around the old port. The nicest coffee shops and restaurants are quite close from Auberge du Vieux-Port. However, the cold weather made me go around the city by car but I would definitely walk during a nicer weather.
I went out the first night to Pizzeria Moretti, an Italian restaurant in Griffintown.I was wearing BisouBisou, Gucci tights and my brand new leopard Aquazzura.
8am Saturday morning, breakfast in bed
Am I the only who’s always very excited about breakfast in bed in hotels? I probably live for that specific moment. I do judge a hotel by their breakfast and also their room service. Auberge du Vieux-Port has a very nice selection when it comes to breakfast or brunch during weekends. To top it all, the room service is amazing and the staff absolutely adorable. Anything you want, they’ll make it happen!
On Saturday, I went for the apple-cheddar crêpes, an orange juice and of course a basket of cute little croissants. We also tried the goat cheese omelette with an almond milk cappuccino.

Part 2 of our breakfast, coffee in bed from our room
When I go in a hotel room, first thing I check is if we have access to a coffee machine. You might already know that but my favourite kind for capsules machine is definitely Nespresso. Lucky me, Auberge du Vieux-Port had a Nespresso machine in every room with 4 capsules available (2 ristrettos and 2 decaf). They also give you the Nespresso sugar and coffee cups which I find so cute and elegant. Sad thing is that hotels do not give you more than the capsules you have once you check in. However, they added more the next day which was so nice of them! I also had extra capsules in my bag that I brought from home (call me crazy).
After breakfast, I usually make myself one last coffee before heading out. A ristretto was exactly what I needed to keep going with my day.
Getting out of Auberge du Vieux-Port was harder than expected
Well, I initially planned a busy weekend since I wanted to try new coffee shops and restaurants around my city. However, my planning didn’t go as I originally thought. Auberge du Vieux-Port is a small hotel, therefore, you feel at home right away, which I personally love. It was VERY hard to get out of the room since I wanted to stay in bed, drink Nespresso, call room service for more food and watch Netflix. Yes, their wifi is actually excellent to watch Netflix all night without having any issues with it.
Night 2 at Auberge du Vieux-Port, ordering fish & chips like a real Londoner
Of course I ordered a fish and chips in my room while watching How to get away with murder. Oh and yes, I asked for extra chips on the side (always)!
Sunday morning, my last day and well, last breakfast at Auberge du Vieux-Port
I woke up on Sunday morning, my favourite day, relaxed and in perfect shape. It was time for me to order my last breakfast from Taverne Gaspar in my room. This time, we decided to try the smoked salmon eggs Benedict and a vegetarian casserole. I added a fresh orange juice, an almond milk latte and a basket of croissants (again). My favourite was the smoked salmon eggs Benedict, I usually always go with that option. After my amazing breakfast, I headed out to Tommy Café + Apéro, not very far from the hotel. We initially wanted to go to Caffe Un Po Di Piu, but as always in Montreal on a Sunday, the place was packed.
GOODBYE GORGEOUS HOTEL, SEE YOU IN SUMMER
I left the hotel around 11 and felt quite sad to leave Auberge du Vieux-Port. I will definitely come back to stay here since the location is absolutely perfection. Trying this hotel during warmer days would also be something I would like to experience.
This hotel is without a doubt on my recommendation list if you want to visit this city. If you are looking for a posh and quiet place to stay with an amazing location, Auberge du Vieux-Port is PERFECT. The Old Port of Montreal has some amazing restaurants, coffee shops and much more to visit if it is your first time here.
In the mean time, enjoy breakfast in bed my loves!
